Fitting & Care Instructions
Fitting & Care Instructions

1. Using warm to hot water wash your hands holding the Night Guard at the same time and thoroughly rinse your hands and the Night Guard under running warm to hot water. This will clean your hands and Night Guard, AND soften the Night Guard so you can comfortably check the size before fitting it in your mouth.

2. Place the warm Night Guard over your upper teeth and gently bite onto it. If it is too long at the back or sides trim it back until comfortable.

3. Practice pressing the Night Guard firmly with your tongue up into the roof of your mouth and sucking on the Night Guard – keep your lips sealed. Practice sucking on the Night Guard while pushing it up against the roof of your mouth and the backs of your teeth with your tongue all at the same time. This practice will greatly help make the fitting process easier to achieve.

4. Boil a jug or kettle or water and pour into a mug or bowl and ALLOW TO COOL FOR 3 MINUTES – ***IMPORTANT*** to avoid scalds and burns. This nears the optimum water temperature to warm & fit a Signature Night Guard (77o Celsius).

5. Add Night Guard to the mug or bowl for 1 minute, submerging. DO NOT HEAT ANY OTHER WAY. Remove Night Guard with a fork (or similar) and shake water off.

6. Once cool enough to touch insert Night Guard into mouth and bite down firmly to obtain an even bite impression. Do not bite through the Night Guard.

7. With Night Guard in position, suck onto Night Guard by exerting pressure with tongue against roof of mouth, and with your fingers massage outside of your lips and cheeks for 30 seconds to mould the Night Guard around teeth and gums.

8. Remove Night Guard and place in cold water for 10 seconds.

9. If fit is not comfortable, repeat steps 4 – 8.

10. If traces of blood are present when you remove Night Guard from your mouth (not uncommon), visit your dentist for professional teeth cleaning/advice.
